Dr. Hossein Ziai the author of the “Philosophy of Mathematics” who is a professor of Islamic and Iranian Studies, and Director of Iranian Studies at UCLA, where he has taught since 1988. Dr. Ziai is an internationally renowned philosopher with a Ph.D. in Islamic Philosophy from Harvard University, with a unique background of getting his B.S. in Mathematics & Physics from Yale University.  Prior to his position at UCLA, Dr. Ziai taught at Harvard University and Brown University.  He has published several volumes and numerous articles on Islamic philosophy, especially the Iranian/Islamic illuminationist tradition.
