Fourteenth Annual Academic Achievement Awards, 2011

On May 15, 2011, the Association of Professors and Scholars of Iranian Heritage will be holding its Fourteenth Annual recognition ceremony honoring academic achievements by students of Iranian Heritage who will be graduating in the 2010/2011 academic year.

During the ceremony, students and their families will have the opportunity to meet scientists, scholars and professors of Iranian heritage who are on the faculty or conduct research at various universities in California and elsewhere and who have agreed to serve as mentors to the honored students.  All attending graduates will receive a certificate and several special sponsored awards will be issued to the graduating students who have demonstrated an outstanding track records in the pursuit of their academic goals.

Applications open: Student applications will be accepted beginning April 1, 2011.
Deadline for Applications and Receipt of documents: April 23th, 2011.

The submission process can be started by completing the online application form. Upon submission of the online form you will receive an email confirmation of receipt within 2 to 3 weeks. If you do not receive a confirmation within three weeks, you should contact APSIH regarding your application.
All supporting documents should be sent in one complete package; Copies of official documents are accepted. Supporting documents should be sent using only regular mail to: APSIH, P.O. Box 4175, Diamond Bar, CA 91765.

 


Nominations: Nominated students should be graduating in the 2010/2011 academic year (summer 2011 included). Applicants can be nominated by anyone including themselves.
Categories:

I: High School Graduates with Outstanding SAT scores and GPA's
II: Outstanding College Graduates (BS or BA)
III: Advanced Degree Graduates (PhD, all doctoral degrees such as MD, DDS, PharmD, JD, and Master’s Degrees)
IV: Post Doctoral Associates

SAT above 1850 or minimum ACT score of 26; unweighted GPA above 3.8/4.0; had AP and Honor courses, from a Southern CA high school

A copy of recent transcript and documents in relation to awards, community service, extra-curricular activities, and the like

GPA above 3.5; from a California university

A copy of recent transcript and advisor information, if applicable (name, phone, email)

 


MS, MA, MBA, JD

GPA above 3.7; from a U.S. university

A copy of recent transcript and advisor information (name, phone, email)

 


Post-Doctorate, PhD, MD, DDS, and other Doctoral Degrees

From a U.S. university

A document indicating applicant's status and university, advisor information (name, phone, email), and resume in pdf format
