hosted this event with the presence of several well known Iranian poets,
song writers, singers and other artists performing |

APSIH's Winter Reception and Concert.
This year the
Andisheh Duo (Noushin-dokht and Sohrab Andisheh.) presented "The Wings
of Rumi", a musical program that consisted of songs, and verses selected
from the classical and modern Iranian literature, in the spirit and
honor of Molana Rumi. This event included persian style feast and was
sold out.

Dr. Nezami accompanied by two co-workers, Dr. Abedini, and Dr. Adami
attended the desk for the two days. On display was 1998 commencement
ceremony. Many new members joined from a variety of Universities and
Institutions. A meeting with the student organizations at UCI and
CSU Fullerton provided information on APSIH commencement. This project
was sponsored by two universities.

this pot-luck bash.
A few members of APSIH were part of a Community Social Services
committee working on finding shelter for 20 additional Kosovar families
who were arriving in Southern California shortly. The Forum was from 3-5
p.m. and some of the refugees described immigration ordeals.

APSIH Conference: "Problems and issues facing parents of young Iranians
concerning their children: What do we know, and what can we do?" A panel
of Professors, Parents and students in front of a significant audience
discussed major issues concerning young Iranians. Professors and
scholars included Dr. Jamal Abedi from UCLA who discussed psychological
factors affecting education and social life of young Iranians, a
statistical profile. Dr. Fredrik Hakimi discussed current status of
mental health of Iranian youth. Dr. Shahlapour discussed sociological
factors with significant impact on the Iranian youth. Dr. Ahmadnia
presented case studies.
